Byron Bay Weekend

Another weekend has come and gone. This past weekend we went to Byron Bay with some of the teacher’s on exchange. We were billeted with former exchange teachers. We got lucky and managed to stay in Mansion of a house with beautiful scenery.
We loved Byron and already looking to go back!!! It is located about a 1 ½ south of Brisbane and the most Easterly Point of Australia. Upon arrival on Saturday we went for a gorgeous walk up to the famous lighthouse, walked around the “Hippie Town” and had dinner at the famous Beaches Hotel. On Sunday, we met at Brunswick Heads, a surfer’s place and boarded a bus and went to the Channon Markets, a great market and hippies all around. Tons of fun! We then had a tour around of the Unique Hinterland. On our tour we stopped at the Tea Tree Sanctuary, very cool and I bought some Tea Tree products. We also stopped in town called Nimbin. Here we could smell pot and saw lots of different types of people and bongs. We ended our day back at Brunswick Heads for an amazing BBQ.
On Monday we drove back to see Ross, Trina and CJ. We went to Movie World it is like a Canada’s Wonderland but better. Great for kids and for those who are into Superheroes.
A great weekend. It was great to visit with the Jensen’s and to catch up with other’s that are on exchange.
The next week and half is exams and finishing up term. Most of you back home will be preparing for summer holidays while we are preparing for winter break. We are heading north for the break. We will camp along the way and do lots of snorkelling in the REEF!!!
Until next time.....
